Memories of the Oilers Dynasty (1984-1990)

The old adage from ABC’s Wide World of Sports sums up the life of a professional athlete: "The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat."

Lanny McDonald going to the netDuring the glory years of 1984 to 1990, the Oilers enjoyed many more victories than they endured defeats. This section looks back on the emotions of winning the Cup for the first time, and to finally grasp the trophy that many predicted was coming

With the highs, there were some bitter moments too.  One defeat came in the middle of the Oiler dynasty.  This section will examine a Battle of Alberta that went terribly wrong, and the most infamous goal in Oilers history.
